Of course! Why did you even come in to work in the first place?

Anything like 'shave' or 'skim'? As in take off small quantities?

I know what a 'shiv' is (prison term for make-shift knife).

It's really a fantastic British term that more Americans, especially post whores, should know and use.

You can find it in the British/Canadian/US dictionary Here but it basically means to slack of or loaf. You can skive off by PWing or leaving early.... you know. What you're doing now.

Oh I thought it was a new word meaning a combination of "skip" and "drive" - also applicable to your situation!
