I try not to stay in the corner too much anymore.
Yeah, I know, everyone appreciates it.
I figured I should chime in on this one since I have been involved.
First...I am, in fact, the one that locked Beanbag's thread. I did so because, at the time, there were already 2 or 3 active threads on the subject and it seemed pointless for Beany to have a thread where a post in an existing thread would have been sufficient and far more likely to have any meaningful effect.
Second...the issue is a sale where, for a variety of reasons (mostly miscommunications, it seems) a European buyer purchased around $1500 worth of stuff from Trent. Trent accepted the money and, for some reason, did not get the merchandise to the buyer for somewhere around 3 months. Adding insult to injury, it appears that he didn't make much effort to keep in contact with the buyer or provide tracking numbers for the various shipping attempts he made.
I got involved when the buyer asked for Trent's number. I called Trent to tell him there was an issue with the transaction and got his permission to give the buyer his phone number.
At this time I piped up in the two threads that were in S2000 Talk to say that the buyer had the contact info he was requesting and we should let the two of them work it out. One thing led to another and I somehow got labeled as a sympathizer who approved of the way Trent was conducting business. Nothing could be further from the truth and I am, frankly, appalled at how Trent has handled things even though it appears like he's finally getting it straightened out.
I feel sorry for the buyer, as it appears his trust and faith in Trent has led to much stress and a huge amount of time without his $1500 AND no merchandise.
At this point I'm not sure what Trent could do to make it right. Certainly simply refunding $1500 at this time seems too little too late. I feel like he should have to pay credit card level interest to the buyer to compensate him for the hassles...but I know that won't happen.
Anyway, that's a quick and at least semi-accurate synopsis of what's happened.
CLIFFS NOTES: Trent sold stuff to someone. I vouched for him. Trent screwed over a buyer. Trent is resolving it...too little too late.
