the guy's had HIV for over 10 years. are todays meds for HIV really that effective??

might be.. i heard a radio commercial with him the other day.. telling people with HIV to take their meds. and hes on some new pills... gotta take em everyday.. bla bla bla.. im sure it cost an arm n leg though.

or maybe he never actually had HIV, but only used it as a publicity stunt to exit the NBA without drawing attention to his basketball abilities, or lack thereof, at that point of his life... after all, he was starting to suck at that point of his career.

HMM... enquiring minds definitely wants to know...

Maybe they caught it so early...

Just what I heard about it, maybe his immune system was so strong it faught it off and controlled it with heavy medication. If he doesn't have it anymore, what's his motivation to say he's cured when he's getting millions of dollars from drug companies to endorse their products?

I wish he got it earlier on and missed the championship game of the 1979 NCAA finals so my Indiana State Sycamores would have won.

Meds. HIV is no longer considered a quickly deadly disease but rather a chronic disease. The people can live a long time without progressing to AIDS. It's not that he doesn't have HIV, but rather that his ability to take his meds regularly, and yes afford them, have given him no detectable viral load.
