I did think about asking over there, but there were two issues I had with that ..... firstly that probably no one would take me seriously and they would just assume I was whoring .... and secondly it would end up in a flame war between those who think the x-brace is good, those who don't and also between the people with all the different types of x-brace .......

So, I thought I would check whether any of the whores have them and what they thought ......

well since you got the first one taken care, I'm just trying to give you your flame war

actually I know there has been a lot of discussion in UTH about it.

spoon is popular cause it's spoon and comptech also, they make good stuff.

the muz brace is not an X and I like that (like the SoS brace) it doesn't put the stress on one welded pivot

the digrappa from rick's s2k is cut from a single piece of billet aluminum and is really cool looking.

My faves are the SoS and diGrappa because they have no welds. Beyond that they should be pretty similar. I'm not sure I trust the diGrappa as it's made of aluminum with is soft metal, but it seems to be holding up.

I haven't bought one yet, but will, in the coming month, and right now, it's looking like the SoS brace......

Any thoughts about one of the down sides that people say they can be dagerous in an accident because the engine would normally be able to move downwards in a frontal impact, but now will be forced backwards into the passenger compartment?

I remember this discussion and I think it was decided this is hogwash for numerous reason. Common sense tells me the four inches between the x-brace and the ground isn't enough to fit the motor into. There were other details pointed out about the mounts breaking away to the sides.

I think if the x-brace can stop the motor in an accident, there isn't enough force in the accident to make the motor go anywhere.....
