Well, everybody (and I mean just about everybody) says the STB didn't add any noticeable stiffness to the S2000, when installed by itself. It's the X-brace that makes the difference... And I already have one.

Yes, the S2000 is phenomenally stiffer, with no body roll or frame flexing at all, so I don't know if I really need an STB.

It looks kinda bare in the engine compartment. Hell, when you pop the hood, the only thing aftermarket you see is the CAI!

I've heard some people say it helps a little in bump steer situations....

but speaking of x-braces.....

Hmm... I see your point. It would really jazz up the engine compartment but that's about it. It sounds like it's as stiff as it can be anyways.

Here's another question. Should I keep the sleeper thing going by leaving everything as stock as possible, or maybe I can have a very small clue as to what's been done... Say, a chrome yellow carbon-fiber valve cover from Spoon?

Is that too artsy?

Wickster, that billet X-brace is damn nice, but I think my Comptech piece is TIG-welded high-chrome steel, so I'd imagine it's pretty damn strong. I'm not going to replace mine for that, but I think if you would've linked me earlier, I would've opted for the ScienceofSpeed piece... Meh... No big deal.

But ya, the engine compartment looks cluttered with an STB. the shock towers are so far forward that an STB would be right smack in the middle of things. And as always, I'm sure it'd get in the way whenever I work on the engine.

STB is good to lean on when you're working on the engine...

I like the redhead as it is. The only on I've seen that I think looks decent is the blue one on J's Racing s2000......
