This is such bullshit...
BTW, I would be kinda flattered if someone used my work, afterall, I'd be putting it on the internet to share with everyone else.. Using work is a little misleading, we are merely providing informative news and stories to our viewers... I don't find anything morally wrong with it, even though it is a law (BTW many laws don't make sense), but on the other hand we have to comply with the rules incase we get others in trouble that is deeper than posting copyrighted works..

Hey, if you didn't want me to take it you'd live in a gated community or lock the car in a vault...

I'm not saying that I don't unjustly use images online (I do), but I also understand that it is wrong and take responsibility for that action. Please don't pretend to be naive enough to think that just because someone puts something on the internet without the complexity and expense of full-on security that they actually intend to share it to a broad base of people...that's just silly...
it isn't hard to have your server refuse to repost images to another site. CNN.com is a good example of how difficult it is the copy an article, however they also allow you to mail the page to a friend...
as much as i agree with you in principle brant, I think comparing image posting to busting into somebody's car a bit naive in itself. While I also have done it and admit it, I do not feel as if I have robbed somebody. The two do not, always, equal each other. Very little does in the world of law.....
I just had to point that out, like I said, in theory, I agree with the point you are making

I think that if you have something that you don't want to see on the internet, it's best shared with people you trust... just like a secret or priveledged information.
Let's think about this for a second...
Do you sue somebody if they blab your secret?
-only if its harmful beyond repair to someone's reputation.
If you are willing to harm or destroy someone's reputation:
-you should be prepared to face the consequences :accordingly:.
If you have something that you don't want to see plastered all over the internet:
-Don't post it on the internet.
If someone steals ( i.e. wasn't publicly or privately invited to share it ) info or pics and then posts it on the internet:
-throw the book at em.
Has anyone's reputation really been harmed in here?
I've said it before, and I'll say it again...
...Anybody who is offended by anything I say or do, is a complete moron.[SIZE=1][B]
