about "saeng".... I don't like that spelling at all because it's ambiguous. Is that prounced "say-ing"? "sah-ehng"? "say-ng"? Hard to tell.

it's said "seh" + "ng" so I write it that way.

I don't feel as strongly on the "i" vs "ee", but in the end "ae" is ambiguous and does not help a first-time speaker to say things correctly.

does it sound like "two ee ooh nan"?

with a kind of emphasis on "two"?
it's a very hard accented T. so

"TTwo-ee" (but pronounced quickly)

"uhhh"

"nahn"

This alphabet chart isn't very helpful. It says the "uh" sound is supposed to sound like the "o" in "song"

I know, it can be confusing - that's why I don't use those kinda things unless they're perfectly to my liking.

But if you think carefully about it, the o in song has a bit of an "uhh" sound in it

Like I think those charts try too hard to be too precise, when languages are anything but

I always make the "o" in "song" sound like the "o" in "on"

I was thinking it should sound more along the lines of the "uh" in "sung" lol
