Terri Schiavo?
Did you know.... that Medicare spends $60 Billion every year?
Did you know... that 25% of all Medicare spending is on the "last 60 days"?
That means that $15B is spent every year on the last 60 days. The drug dosage goes up, the number of drugs goes up the testing and monitoring equipment and the caregivers increase.
What am I suggesting? That it's too expensive to keep people alive. Nope. that would be too easy for you to condemn me for but that's not it. It's this... Somebody is making a pot of money on this right to live crap. You don't think they're lobbying? bah!
You know the whole right to life thing?... you could just be a pawn.

Yeah, George W. Bush has never cut a vacation short, not even for the tsunami. And an emergency session of both houses of Congress on a weekend? Give me a break. There must be some incredible behind-the-scene shit going on here.

Talking to some of the docs here today and they couldn't even estimate every day how many people have their tube pulled in the US every day.
I said, 'around a dozen?' They said 'no way, more'. I said ' in the dozens?'. They said, 'couldn't tell you but a LOT... euthanasia is done all the time'.
In some states the docs are allowed to make the desicion. In texas for example a govenor passed a bill allowing the doc to make the decision to pull life support if the patient would not recover. that was govenor Bush.
Having a hard time reconciling this shite? Me too.
