TLX Type S First Impressions
I hardly know where to start
The 1200km drive home was a chance to start getting familiar with the beast and there’s lots more to figure out
-even in Comfort mode it effortlessly accelerates (probably obvious)
-the change to Sport+ is noticeable and amazeballs. Exhaust is louder, suspension adjusts, steering is heavier, etc.
-paddle shifters seem pointless with 10 gears
-Cabin is super quiet which actually sucks when you’re in Sport+ mode because I wanna hear that exhaust!!
-interior is at the standard you’d expect. There’s even a wrist rest for the screen controls. I’ve heard complaints it’s not a touch screen (controls will take time getting used to) but the location of the screen is just a little too far out of reach for that
-ambient lighting is non-boy racer (except for the foot wells!). I love that it’s also in the door handles - everyone’s been in a dark car they don’t know, fumbling to find the handle right?
-Also along the lines of thoughtful details: front speakers framed by the holy shit handles
-headrests adjust vertically AND horizontally
-other seat adjustments are wicked (adjustable bolsters, reclines almost completely flat) and love that our fobs are labelled Driver 1 & 2 so it remembers our respective seat positions.
-SO. MUCH. TECH. If you’re in a crash it’ll automatically dial 911. The lane detection feature not only lets you know you’re drifting out of your lane but will slightly correct you.
-variable cruise control will take some getting used to but I LOVE it.
-key fob is simultaneously meaty and pretty
TL; DR It’s a wicked machine and I’ll have more to say once I figure some stuff out.

I found a B&W Version of the 2 tone seats too.
