I'm pretty sure Stratton is closed now. They have a contract with the Green Mountain Forest and they have to close at a certain date but Killington is still open not sure about other mtns.

We used to get a house near Stratton and we would get up early and drive to various mountains. I really liked Mad River Glen the best because it was not so corporate as the other resorts. I haven't been skiing in a couple of years and I am considering getting a pair of cross country skis even thought I had very little interest in that in the past.

I used to cross country ski when I was a kid it's not too bad it's enjoyable to get out into the woods and there are areas with groomed trails. www.wildwingsski.com

hanks for the link. I thought that they had some cross country trails back by the Sun Bowl at Stratton?

Back home in NJ my house backs up to a lake/city park so I would cross country ski back there.
