TIL clocks are fast because we’ve been taken off the BC Hydro grid and are getting power from Rio Tinto Alcan who runs on a faster frequency

Which reminds me of something I learned the other day, which is that Japan still has two different power grids, one on 50 hz and one on 60 hz, so you have to be careful when buying appliances if you live there!
