We have been seeing lots of different eggplants in recent times, you have striped eggplant, there is an asian or thai eggplant, then the larger typical sized ones, and then the baby eggplant (sometimes called Italian eggplant).
Not that I notice. They seem to be more tender IMO. Ours have been coming from locally grown farms in the region though, with the other large ones starting to be imported from the U.S and Mexico now. So it is hard to compare when you have really fresh local ones compared to ones that were picked and shipped weeks ago from other countries.
