Today was a very sad day for me...
A good friend of mine, a beloved SCCA racer, and the local performance garage tech guy JP Salem passed away early this morning.
No one here in the corner knows how great this guy was. He was a friend to all and could always bring a smile to your face. Unfortunately, the last few weeks, his health had been deteriorating. The specific cause of his death is unknown, but when he checked himself into a hospital last night, his heart was working at 20% capacity, he had a blood clot in his leg, his kidney was failing, and he was diabetic. He recently was divorced and his children(aged 2 and 6mos.) and his ex-wife moved back to Alaska which is where he was from. Even though he was away from his kids now, he still called them every night, and he loved them very much! It will be very sad now walking into the shop and not seeing this loveable guy! He truly was great...even though probably no one here knows him, you do need to know how much he will be missed and a great impact he was on my life! R.I.P. JP!
