I'm not innocent, but I have yet to be proven guilty in a court of law...

Well, technically, I DID go to court to contest a speeding ticket once...but I don't really count that...

Nope. That's why I don't bother contesting tickets anymore...not worth the waste of half a day or more on the off chance that the judge will actually listen to the cases...

The way I figure, 9 times out of 10 I deserve getting caught for whatever I'm doing, so it's only fair that I should just pay the piper those few times that I DO get caught...

I was up in court for speeding (you have to attend in person in the UK if they are considering suspending your licence). The judge was very good actually listened to the arguments etc. and I got a very short ban (2 weeks instead of 3 months) and a tiny fine (equivalent to US$ 180).

I was quite impressed with the system .... (well for the way it worked for me anyway )

I went to court to fight a ticket I received on my MOUNTAIN BIKE! No, I swear to god... It's not urban legend.

The fockers who run the water district in Marin county (north of San Fran) were on a power trip and actually had radar guns trained on us as we hustled down the back side of Mount Tamalpais... We were ticketed for 35MPH when the zone was restricted to under 10.... What a joke!

It'd actually all be humorous if it weren't over $100!! The good news is that my appearance brought the fee down about 50%...
