Default Vonage

I'm far too lazy to search for any past threads on this. In short, considering Vonage VoIP phone service for the house, since it would cut down my phone bill by about half and add flexibility in managing my service.

Anyone with any experiences (good or bad) with the service?

how about considering locking that Lesismor thread which is over 2000 posts in favour of the brand new shiny one, which, I'll have you know, made her smile a great deal.

wait a minute, my step dad uses some kind of VoIP... but I don't know anymore than that. For his work, similar to what you suggest.... I'm really no help.

From the small number of my friends that have used it, their experiences have been very positive.

There's the issue of potentially not having phone service when the power goes out, but I've heard there is a decent workaround... unfortunately I don't remember what that is...

I've heard nothing but good things about Vonage, although I still use Skype at home mainly as I CBA to change it.

I have mixed feelings on Vonage so far. I've had a few calls drop out. But my brother had the same issue and said he corrected it with a couple changes to his settings. I haven't tried changing mine yet.

My brother has it, he lives in NYC. He hates it Says it is not ready for prime time. Drop-outs and general internet flakiness. He does NOT rely on it. He is keeping his POTS for emergency use.
