a C4 rearend, you say? why not a Ford 9-inch?

the ford 4.6 is a nice block to start from, jim has plenty of experience with them - he has a bored cobra 4.6 in Bear. anyway, the cast iron block can withstand gobs of power, the problem would be with the internals - forged all the way...

now, an 11krpm ford modular would mean a serious overbore AND a wicked serious de-stroke. the current bore/stroke ratio just wont cut it for high rpm. also, you'd need a custom valvetrain. it is an OHC (thank god) setup so it'll take high rpms more readily than a pushrod setup. i'd imagine there'd be some hardcore valve floatage though. with a 2-valve setup and 6krpm+ you'll need some bigass valves and an aggressive cam; but bigass valves and high rpm don't go well together... you'll have to find someone with a 4-valve setup for the ford 4.6.

BUT

if you're going this all-out, i say just go with a C32B and a holinger M71 6-speed sequential - electrohydraulic clutch and semi-auto. the S2k would haul some major ass. AND stay 100% honda.
not familiar with the c32b. is this the one they are putting in the european accords?

what I would really like to see more manufacturers build are small (3-ish liters) high revving motors with lots of pistons. Like a honda made v-8 around 3 or 4 liters that spins to 10 K and makes 400 bhp. that would be sweet.

C32B is the NSX 3.2 V6

maybe I can afford a NSX in the future.....

UL seems to think the NSX motor in the s2000 is a good idea too. I'd miss 7000-9000 though
