We're, off to Utah to see and shoot the solar eclipse.
We're staying at St George for four nights and seeing and shooting the annular eclipse from somewhere (maybe Richfield, maybe Bryce Canyon0.
It's an annular eclipse. Annulus is Latin for ring. Unlike a total, the moon is further away from the earth, relative to the distance of the sun, so the moon doesn't completely cover the disc of the sun. You can't see the corona, which is the sun's atmosphere, but you see a ring of fire.

The keypad hand controller electronics went wacko halfway through the eclipse. I think I need to replace it. So, no pics. However, the weather was great and we saw it all through the scope. Definitely worth the trpo.
