I have been planning a european tour for a couple weeks in may this year for my sister's graduation already too. Italy, southern france, nurburgring and amsterdam.

 

You guys should also check into renting an apt or flat rather than a hotel. I think that's a lot more common in europe - plus then you can save $$$ on food by cooking in. and should be pretty cheap.

And while I think I can get off to a track day by myself once in awhile, I doubt a trip to Amsterdam with a bunch of young stud muffins would fly here at home.

Your family won't like amsterdam? You went to hawaii last time, bring them to europe! I'd have to coordinate it with the trip my sister and I are planning to be able to afford it so she would be there. Just the non-whores wouldn't catch all the jokes

 

Yeah...bring your hubby!! My parents went on trips without us and you could bring them too!

I would consider a West Coast gathering or possibly some other local that I could do a weekender but doubt my ability to get away to Europe.

Not that it's a bad idea at all cuz like Josh says I hang with you guys more than the Bay Area board but get together with them more. It wold be fun.

This makes me a little sad... Man, I hang out with you guys more than anyone I know. I don't think I could swing it, though I love the idea (and thanks for driving it forward, UnaB).

The simple truth for me is that my wife and kids (they're really young) neither understand why I hang out in the Corner nor would be up for a European jaunt to do a PW meet. For me, the Corner is my private hideaway. The real-life vacation time is too rare and too precious to venture out solo for a gathering of this sort -- much as I'd like to.

I hope, someday, to meet you guys in person -- but it'll probably be individually (if you travel out my way, or if I travel on business). Maybe as the kids grow up a little...
