Default What kind of bike should I get?

I am going to and from school so much that I think I will need a bike so my parents don't have to lug me around and bring me back. But I'm having trouble picking a bike to ride. I don't really follow the bike trend but I would like a BMX style bike (a shorter one). It's shorter to the ground, and I am very picky that I need a bike where my feet can touch the ground easily. I don't care about footpegs or whatever those things are called. I'm just wondering what brands I should look for and what I should avoid. Any help would be greatly appreciated thankss

I haven't ridden a non-powered bike for about 4 years, so I have no idea what bikes are like now a days, but that looks ok.

I'd go with the first one, I think Mongoose is good, I've heard of them, and I don't hear much about bikes, so go for it...or wait for someone who knows something about bikes. Or just get the S2 already!

it's just the second bike seems like it has a lot more "features" than the first one in the description.
