Akin by Emma Donoghue. About an older gentleman who is about to return to Nice when he;s forced to take care of an 11 year old family member. The two go off to France together. So far I like that she is descriptive enough for me to imagine what Nice is actually like.

I seem to be struggling to finish this one. It's well written, it just doesn't really resonate with me.

Attempted to start a few books lately and just couldn't get in to any of them.

I did read an article about a piece of bone fragment from a dog found in SE Alaska (super close to where I live) that's ~10,000 years old. It adds to the evidence that people brought dogs with them to North America as the Ice Age glaciers retreated. This kind of stuff fascinates me, especially in this particular geographic area. Here's the article in case anyone is interested: Oldest dog remains in Americas discovered in Alaska (nationalgeographic.com)
