What are You Reading Right Now?

I have barely read a thing in months.
A few weeks back I started "Anatomy of Terror: From the Death of Bin Laden to the Rise of the Islamic State." I stopped for about two weeks & picked it up yesterday. It is great, so detailed, written from a place of knowledge & experience, rather than fear & xenophobia. I've previously read the author's (Ali Soufan, former FBI agent/expert on terrorism/founder of The Soufan Group) other book (The Black Banners) and loved that as well.
I do recommend it if you're interested in international politics, global relations & domestic policy.

I'm still working on going through The mTBI Workbook by Douglas Mason. It's been a really practical resource and something I've recommended to other people. Once that's done I only have one more book to read in my challenge!

The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Last book in my reading challenge!

One of my goals for this year is to read 30 books, starting with "The Association of Small Bombs" by Karan Mahajan, I'm only a few chapters in but am already totally enthralled. I'll probably finish it by the end of the week at this rate.

I don't think I could ever read 30 books in a year, but I do hope to at least get through a book a month.
My work book club has us reading Whiplash by Joi Ito this month

I didn't think I could make it through my challenge (26 books in a year), especially with a brain injury, but I did it in just over 13 months. So freaking proud of myself.

Well done!
I'm currently reading "What We Talk About When We Talk About Love," a collection of short stories by Raymond Carver. I like it.
Otherwise I've read this year (I'm a ways behind schedule):
-Casino Royale
-Live or Let Die

Currently reading What Your Cat Knows by Sally Morgan. So far it's an interesting look at intelligence/cognition in cats. The layout of it really appeals to me: paragraphs/chapters, but also the occasional text box with a few photos thrown in here and there. I like that I can choose to read part of a page or several. Also love that it's hardcover.

This month I've read:
The Rap Yearbook - Shea Serrano - Super fun read, great information, etc.
Basketball (And Other Things) - Shea Serrano - Even more fun read, only took about two hours cover to cover, was on Obama's 2017 to read list, etc.
The Autobiography of Gucci Mane - Surprisingly well written, great story telling, his rise from poor kid in rural Alabama to millionaire to prisoner and beyond was beyond compelling.
Currently working my way through "We Were Eight Years in Power" by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
