ALPINE ADDS BLUETOOTH SOLUTION FOR IN-DASH HEAD UNITS

Hands-free Bluetooth Connection Available for All 2006 Ai-NET Head Units

TORRANCE, Calif., Jan. 5, 2006 - Enhancing its commitment to help consumers connect their wireless technology-driven lifestyles in the car, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. today announced that its 2006 Ai-NET head units are enabled for hands-free Bluetooth connectivity. Compatible with many Bluetooth mobile phones, this new interface module will give consumers the power to listen and talk wirelessly with ease through the Alpine in-dash head unit - even if the phone is stowed away.

"Alpine has again demonstrated its leadership in bringing the latest wireless connectivity solutions into the in-vehicle space," said Stephen Witt, vice president, Marketing, Alpine Electronics. "Enabling Bluetooth hands-free capability with a plug-in adapter lets us offer great flexibility to Bluetooth phone users."

The KCA-100BT automatically initiates network connection upon entering the car, and works even if the mobile phone is in a briefcase, luggage or jacket pocket. It comes with an external call control button that can be mounted on the dash, for simple call-receiving and call-ending. A microphone and visor clip is also included.

For 2006, four Alpine Ai-NET DVD/CD head units, three AV head units and the Vehicle Hub Pro OEM interface system are Bluetooth Ready:
