Sadly I think this area will be prone to further earthquakes in the future.

Just heard on the radio that an earthquake of mag 8.2 struck off the coast of Indonesia. No word of tsunamis yet.

Also Kaiser Permanente Healthcare recalled it's Dr's due to civil unrest creating a situation too dangerous to stay.
This area of Indonesia has been suffering from civil unrest for some time .... I know that long before the tsunami the company that I was working for were looking into aid projects, funded by the Japanese government, in the Aceh area. But the Japanese govenmt wouldn't release the funding for those areas until the security and political situation was improved.

It is going to be a long haul for them to rebuild their lives there!

Sometimes, I guess you just have to consider yourself lucky. Jeez, an 8.2 would level a good part of Massachusetts if it ever happened. THere's so much brick/wood/concrete in the houses in New England... It'd be a disaster.

Doing well. Work is good and it's nice to have the boys back... well one anyway... the other gets home day after tomorrow.

Looks like spring may finally be here (i.e. rain over)

There may be rain over the next few days but it really looks like it's coming to a close.
