Why can't people just let some threads die!

my buds in the Corner
Pardon my mysterious absence, I had a pressing engagement with a very large Hamburger...
I don't necesarilly agree with paying a foreign govt. $15B of the taxpayers contributions... especially when there are programs in our own backyard that could use the funding. However, if the $15B were kept in-house, I'm sure it would be squandered away on more useless programs that are hopeless. I don't understand why more of the countries that ARE within reach of an Iraqi offensive aren't worried, but I do know that if there is an offensive, the countries that don't care now will be running to the U.S. or the U.N. for aid, protection and retribution afterwards. Maybe a little good faith $$$ up front can help secure a stronger foundation for a resolution to the potential conflict that is looming.
Whatever happens, I think its safe to say that WE will be footing a large portion of the tab... and as always the generous tip that the world has come to expect of us.
Personally, I think we should take over OPEC, and distribute it evenly among the world powers and let the UN regulate it. I mean c'mon... how much $$$ do these oil-sheiks need???

...and if I hear one more hippie talk about the innocent people who could die if the US invades Iraq, I'm gonna slap with a dead fish!
The US has openly informed the world of its intentions. How soon we forget the thousands of people who died on September 11, 2001. The difference is, the people who died on 9/11 commited only one sin... they went to work that morning.
Damn, I'm spooled up now!
