I am pretty sure that within 5 years we will be back in the UK, unless things go balistic at work and I get a serious promotion or something like that.

We have been away for 9 years already, and my wife would like to be back in the UK within the next couple of years. I should be able to stretch this to maybe 3 or 4, I guess it just depends on what opportunities arise (here and in the UK) during that time .....

Silliwank, silliwank!!!! Come back and whore with us, OROWHFTC!! (oh revered one who helped found the Corner)

James, I think you really should consider yourself lucky. You're also lucky to have a better half who tolerates it (at least to this point). Of course, I'm sure that the moped drivers would welcome your going home!

I do understand that, James.

I know this is personal, but are you guys thinking about having kids?? If so, that'll change your whole perspective. I can only say that, if you do go that way, you'll be glad you have all this traveling to look back on!

Either way, James, I think you're a lucky guy (FWIW)!

Cheers Charlie ......

Yes we are thinking about kids, and I already feel that if we do have them, I would want to be back in the UK with them for a number of reasons .......

Health, ease of life, eduction etc.

I guess the good point is that we can look back on these years and the memories will be great

Oh yeah... kids change perspectives quickly. Perspectives change again when they go off to school.
