Luke, you should go back to the accident scene and look at the road; see if, in fact there really was loose gravel. Also, you said the front suspension was just dangling... Do you have any pics of the suspension? The rear suspension failure could've easily been caused by the impact with the guardrail, but perhaps it was the front suspension that caused it all.
There's minimal damage to the front driver's side - nothing serious enough to cause a suspension failure. So I wonder why the suspension piece broke. This could potentially be the cause of it all.
Sorry to be the one to nag, but I still can't get to grips that you just "lost it." So I'll ask more questions. Have you ever clipped a curb, or even think you may have clipped a curb? Have you ever had work done on the suspension? Have you ever hit a speed bump faster than you should have? Was their excessive/uneven tire wear or steering wheel play, before the incident? Did you notice anything different at all when driving, right before the accident?
As for proving you weren't at fault, it's going to be a toughy. I too, have to ask my dad.

Good luck.
Also, you might wanna post this in S2000 Talk to see what they think.

Either way...I just need my car fixed...I'll deal with liability as necessary.
Oh man, my heart goes out to you, Luke. I'm glad you're ok. As for the car, don't get to bummed - I snap-spun mine into a guardrail, did about the same as yours to the right front, except mine was all from the wheel forward.
The suspension is designed to fail catastrophically before transmitting too much load to the frame. I don't know how your car looks in the rear at the suspension mounts, but I'd bet the front hub broke right at the top where it necks down. We got a new front hub ($225.77) with bearing, bolted it on, and the alignment was still perfect. Just to be safe, we replaced the upper and lower control arms, as well (even though I could have x-rayed them, I just got new ones).
Hang in there; cars get bent, we put them back together, go like hell another day
