I'm thinking of consoladating my 3 vehicles for a Mitsub. Evolution. I want to talk to someone that has one and possibly check it out...? I don't want to compromise the car I've built and from what I've heard in the past, people really love that car!
So if you have one and you love it or hate it, I wanna know!
I drove and Evo 8 and an Evo 8 MR before I bought my Berlina.
IMO the Evo is a great car. The performance right out of the factory was great, and the handeling was very driver friendly. I liked the 6spd tranny in the MR alot better than the base 5spd in the plane Evo.
Some of the interior felt a little bit cheap to me, and personally the size was a big factor for not buying the Evo.
If i had to buy a 4 seater though in the 30g range, I would take the Evo 9. Theirs nothing else on the market.
If you are going to buy and EVO, like Guedo said, buy an Evo9 with the new Mivec engine. I used to be a former STI owner, and not that I was dissapointed on my car, but performance parts were more expensive than the Evo's. If I was to get another 4dr. AWD car I would get an Evo. If you can afford the MR, get that one also............
pm liljapnboy . he's an ohio guy and one of my best friends. if you go to the darkside subforum, you can see pics of his car.. he can shed a lot of insight on the evo.. and he's driven my ap2 at the dragon so he can give you his thoughts on that as well.
i had an 03 Evo VIII for 2.5 years.... great car. I ran 13.4@102mph at the drag strip and I even lifted between shifts...... I beat all of the Porsche losers at AutoX and I also ran 1:08.2 at Beavrun 100% stock on a day when the best Honda Challenge full race car ran 1:05.X
I hauled kids, drove through snow, etc.... Evo's are great cars. i am sure I will own another one again....
i would like to pick up an evo IX MR as a daily and have the s2k as a weekend car.. would have to consult the better half about that one first though..
those cars definitely rip dude....but make sure you get a new one with a warranty....the thing to watch with mitsu's is the warranty. even if you jsut put just an intake on them your factory warranty is null and void.
