BeaveRun Race/HPDE reports
Yea, the trip out wasn't very fun. First we ran into several construction areas that cost us about an hour and then I saw a puff of blue smoke come out of the back of the FORD. After looking under the truck we saw transmission fluid covering everthing. We decided to limp the truck to the next exit take a closer look. We jacked the truck up and inspected it but couldn't find the source of the leak. John talked to a trucker who told us we could drive about twenty miles to an all night truck stop which we did but the mechanics couldn't find the problem. I took a chance and drove the truck another 120 miles to the track. After calling FORD road side service several times I found a local dealer that was open on SAT. who took a look at it. It turns out that FORD had a recall where they reset the temperature and pressure of the transmission. WELL, it took us a lOOOOONG damn time to get to the track.
I missed the first session on Sat. but drove every other session and had a great time. The Civic is super fun and FAST, I can't wait until HyperFest.

I was surprised how easy it was to get comfortable with a Front Wheel Drive car, I thought I would spin once from braking wrong or something but I got used to it very quickly. I have to give JFO and Zepher a big thanks, JFO let me watch his in-car vid to see his line around the track and Zepher(an H5 racer and Honda Challange Northeast Director) rode with me for a session and gave me some good pointers. Aside from the tow vehicle problems it was a good weekend.
