Well, I just got some confirmation from my cousin that I will have tickets for the Friday and Saturday practice and qualifying sessions for the Brazilian GP.
I had tickets to the race all along, but the other sessions were questionable. With Schumacher announcing his retirement after the Brazilian race, I was concerned. Well, the family took care of me.
Here's a map of the track. I'm sitting in the section marked by the black arrow. The cars are going counter clockwise around the track- from my right to left in front of me.
Ken - I'm sure my cousin's know some good places to eat. I'll mention this if I have any say. (I've been told by other family that when they visit Brazil, they are well taken care of.)
I haven't dug through the maps yet, but I'm staying near one of my cousin's. They are in the city, but have a tiny apartment. Another cousin live in a mansion, but they aren't near anything to do/see. The decision was to stay near the city where we could do things when we're in town. As of now:
Thursday/ Friday with family in Sao Paolo.
Sat/Sun at my cousin's beach house on the coast just north of Sao Paulo
Mon-Wed at Iguaca Falls along the Argentine border
Thur more in Sao Paulo, or at my cousin's coffee plantation
Fri/Sat/Sun time spent at the track and in Sao Paolo.
Mon flying home
Freq- Yes - Sao Paolo has a very large homeless contingent. With a city with 26 Million people the seperation between the haves and have nots is tremendous. Just to give you an idea, one of my cousins (the one who works for the promotion company that does the race is the same one who's family owns the coffee plantation.) They have about 12 servants who are at the plantation all year round, regardless of where my cousin and family are. Their comment was "We do very well. We can afford to help keep 12 more families off the streets."
