I had a knockoff 50.00 intake on my 350z. Worked wonderful without the big name attached to it. I just suggest going with a better air filter.

a cold air intake is a cold air intake when its that style...the only ones that i wouldn't buy of ebay are the tsuchinoko or whatever the f they are called...those are specially CAD designed to create positive pressure at speeds...but something like that from ebay i dunno if you don't care about it not being name brand then go for it.

i was gonna get a cold air but i think they are worthless for this car. the only real benefit they give(and this is dependent on personal preference) is the cool ass sound they make rev'ing...

dunno but i'm not gonna pay 200 some dollars for an intake that:

a. add's like 2hp oooohhhh nooo i'm hot roddin now...
b. has the chance to hydro lock(bypassvalves are bs and i've heard stories of air getting sucked in through the bypass valve and not through the filter so if it catches some dirt or something your screwed when it tears through your engine)
c. costs money and you have to modify the car...my car had a CAI on it..i know because there's a huge hole in my passenger side wheel well where it used to be.

dunno i'd rather have something like the snorkel addition to the stock air box and a heat shield on the engine... that and i like not being scared shitless of the larger puddles i sometimes have to go through...

but hey for 20 bucks plus shipping i mean..its not that big of a loss...like a couple other posters have suggested i would change the filter on the ebay one for a k&n filter if you do get it.

you get what you pay for man, so expect problems.

to start off, im going to bet that intake is going to make you throw a CEL because it doesn't look like it will bolt up to the oem vacum lines.

hydrolocking a car is not easy to do. usually you have to have the filter already soaked and submerged for it to happen, but then again anything is possible.

the oem airbox has a water channel in it, so you cant hydrolock the s2000 unless you drive off a bridge into a body of water and submerge the car.

imo, get a snorkel and gut the stock air box and use a drop in filter. the oem intake is too well designed to gain much power unless your buying an intake such as the j's or mugen which really only give you 8 to the wheels because they are made for function. they suck more air up as the car is moving and pressureize the system adding more hp while driving.

id rather buy spoon though because its a sponge filter and will suck in more air.

Well, as much as I would love to have the Spoon snorkel & filter, I can't afford it. I have Twin Sons, and am looking for parts I can easily afford.
