Default Color question

Can anyone tell me if the yellow on AP1 and AP2 is the same color or not?
I pay the guy to paint my kit and gave him the color code and all and now it doesn't even match. The color is too light. WTF

AP1 = Spa
AP2 = Rio

The two colors are very noticably different with the Spa being lighter and not as deep a yellow.

Man I used to start some retarded threads. Oh wait...

When I had my spoiler painted I also gave the guy that painted it a sample of touch up paint along with the Spa color code. Maybe try that if you get him to repaint it.

Problem is that there are "Variants" of Spa Yellow. Most colors have them, usually one or two. Spa has at least 9! Some color matching systems show as many as 12. Line up 5 spa S2k's and I'll show you 5 different colored cars. I've gone through 2 full repaints and a body kit, so I understand your frustration.

At the same time you have to realize the yellow fades a bit and alters in the sun, so its possible to have a slight change in color even though the code is correct.

I think Jen can attest to that.

did you NOT think i would see this thread zippy! :shakeshead:

yes there are 12 diff codes this is JUST FOR SPA! thats NOT including rio so who knows how many there are including rio.

rio is darker and alot more pearl in it, my advice go to a very very good shop or your car will be multi colored :waitingfogary: mine went to hondas body shop and they still screwed it up after 2 times and i need a repaint again because of cracking paint, come to find out they dont use that shop anymore ers

also remember that on differnt materials the paint color will look differnt so the shop has to know what they are doing (speaking from expereince), depending on the pieces that you want to paint you may need some blending (i dont think thats the right word but i cant think of the word right now) onto the other panels.

do your research with the shop and you you get what you pay for!

Nope, I knew you would see it, and you know more about S2000 yellow colors than probably anyone else on the board.
You are the Spa expert.
