I actually plan on closing this poll, and letting others like yourself be nominated. We also need to decide the # of CO's we all think we need. I left this poll open b/c as suprmonky73 said, it's a good indication of what the community wants.

If I were you I would start a new thread similar to kndonlee's, explaining why you feel you would make a good CO.

[quote name='AssassinJN' date='Jan 29 2009, 07:13 PM'] Again I feel as though I should express my opinion that the CO title is not a huge deal. I haven't met donald yet (I look forward to the time when I do), but his actions and words here show that he has the desire to get the community moving in his area.

Once again, what does the title of CO really get him? Moderation rights in DelVal? Ok now you can sticky posts (which personally work against me as I hardly notice the stickies anymore), what else? Moderation is not the responsibility of a CO, so even if you have the technical rights assigned to you, it is not your ethical(perhaps the wrong word but you get the idea) right or responsibility to edit any posts but your own nor close threads opened by others.

So really the title is little more than a badge or stamp. While it may give you some sense of duty, that it is your job to get things setup or moving, in reality makes no difference as many have shown, and continue to show.

Anyone can choose a time and place and post a meet. People who are interested and can make it will come, your title (or lack there of) will make no difference to who comes or not.

This idea goes both ways however. Those who have the title but are not active in this community as much as they used to be should take this to heart just as well. "Giving up" your title means nothing, you are the same person you were, you can still setup events just as you did, no one will think any less of you. Getting the title is the same, no one will think any more of you, your ability to come up with great ideas for event will not magically increase over night, you will be no different the you were the day before.

Also....

Where's the option for freq

In fact, there should be an option for:

Don-

Seriously, I'm glad to read your lengthy list of observations in both threads. In a short couple months, you've made a good contribution to the Del Val forum. On the other hand, I'm not sure how many folks from the the region have met you. I was at New Hope but don't remember you there....nor at the MWG.

As others have stated, it would be a good idea to have a more thorough discussion about the issues. I was busy on Thursday and have just read these threads. I haven't yet gone into the 'voting booth'....nor have I looked at the results.

I'll be curious to see what others have to say, but have no problem with passing over the "reins" if that's what's best for the Del Val community.

Let me start by saying I'm 100% for Don in some type of capacity on here because as hes shown he has way to much time to figure stuff out on here and basically is catching Frank with his activeness. As for my lengthy post about why I should be a CO I'll just post some ideas here for you all. By nature I'm one that goes against the grain. But I do have some insite on this topic and feel a need for "CHANGE" is upon us. Like how I quoted Mr. Obama there? Heres what I suggest:

A Lehigh Valley forum is being purposed as a sub-catagory off of DelVal. I think this is an absolute necessity. As I have voiced lately and Don has backed me up it sometimes just isnt practical for us to drive all the way to Philly for a cheese steak meet or something like that as the distance, time, and cost sometimes outweighs the benefits of making it to the meeting. I personally have an hour drive to the Lehigh Valley and then another hour to Philly and the rest of you. I could make stuff all the time in the LH if there was more to do but everything posted is in the Philly area unless its something Don or myself plan. Not only that as the economy gets worse we will need to be more localized to just survive.

I have tried to get a paintball meet going which fell through. I had a snowboarding learn to ride day and several made it and we had a blast. Others "FAILED" like I heard is quite frequent in the DelVal and thats all fine because people have stuff to do and stuff that comes up. Currently I am trying to get something going for OCMD in June for the car show and my birthday celebration that my friends and I do every year, but not much interest is being shown again there either. Its hard for someone to run a community that basically is just on the forum and doesnt do to much other then show up for New Hope. But let me tell you New Hope is a great time and I would definately make the trip again and it was nice to finally meet most of you.

Mainly what I think would be best is for the DelVal to have so many CO's so that it runs fine on here and operates like it does now. I think then the LV deal should also have a CO or 2 or 7, whatever is necessary. Everyone can co-mingle like now but this way the LV can get a roster or something also and start to have weekly things with people you can count on. Basically just another community inside the DelVal. Anyway thats my opinion on the topic and if it gets me elected then awesome if not I'll just keep doing what I do.

I think we need one thread for this.

Donald has already explained himself. Theirs no point making 3 other threads, and when I say 3 other threads, theirs 3 specific other people including BL S2K that I personally think might run if given the chance.

In all honesty though BL S2K, the only thing stopping you from becoming a CO is yourself. If you don't take the first step and throw yourself out there, who else will?
