i was just at Beave run a month ago for the ITR Expo. I wouldn't mind going again. Is it possible for me to just come for the track day and not the other stuff? School and work gets in my way
I don't think you can attend FC 04 and only pay for the Sunday track event, but you should check the threads on that forum. If you are experienced, the Monday event might be better b/c ....
you won't have to deal with bumbling novices....like me
who will be on the track on Sunday

One of the track days that I went to we covered the whole day's classroom session on safety equipment. I'll give you guys a quick summary here.
Helmets:
Sa rated helmets can withstand a few smaller impacts unlike a motorcycle helmet which can only sustain one impact then is considered disposable. A full face SA helmet has a bar across the face part to protect from an impact with the steering wheel. An SA helmet also has nomex components to withstand some fire damage (I have yet to see someone in full nomex gear to make this a concern) M rated helmets are fine for a few track events but an SA should be considered. All helmets of a rating are almost the same, the price difference if for comfort, and weight features.
Also Get a neck collar, A good simpson one should be less than 40$ and they really help the neck strain.
The last thing I want to let you all know is about harnesses. I think this is pretty important, especially since my instructor went off on how most track inspections don't give this enough attention. DO NOT use harnesses if you don't have a roll bar!!! They will hold your head upright and not allow you to duck down if you have no roll over protection. Our instructor said she has had 16 years of teaching experience for BSR racing school and she is sickened at how many people do this.

I want to go to Beaver again. I was there back in july and had a blast. If I could only get off work
When I went to Beaver, their rules were helmet (i forget which rating, they go by scca) and top down. Also, long sleeve shirt and pants (both must be cotton). Gloves were optional.
