Good points Evan, nice discussion!

Customer service is EXACTLY the reason I myself try to stay away from the "big box" stores! I never feel like they care about me or my $$ there!

Yea, don't get me wrong... I know what you mean and I always go to the audio store to see if they have what I want. I'm definitely a lot smarter than I was 10 or so years ago when I got into car audio. I usually know what I want and how much it should cost me. I go to the store to listen/touch/feel etc and if they have the RIGHT PRICE and I'm not comfortable installing it (or have a friend help me out ) then I definitely leave it up to the guys in the store who do this stuff every day! I have two friends that were co-managers (owners??) for 15 years in a car audio place here in OM. I usually run things by them first also if I have a question, which is pretty rare now; but at least I can go to them for an honest answer.

anyway, i've stolen your thread, sorry man.

Told ya those amps were huge. Are they class A's? I figure they must be, because digitals are pretty small. 12" alchemy or 10"? It looks like a false floor, so I'll guess 12". Gonna cap the sub amp? 1/2 or 1 farad? I need more details... i'm getting psyched for the show.

Updates for me:
* my lip won't be here until 3/11
* my intake won't be here until 3/13??
* calipers should be painted this weekend
* my pointsource coax's that I pulled from my subaru (was rear fill in that car) should be in this weekend too

Things I'm still debating...
* amp - now or later? I'm leaning toward later. 1 or 2.. etc.
* sub - still deciding on brand, size and how I will power it, probably will be installed at a later date with the amp(s)
* springs - to lower or not to lower, that is the question
* clear sidemarkers - i'm thinking no.

Yes class A's so much clean power though!! I love them!

http://www.zapco.com

Mine are the competition line (mine are older but basically the same) the new ones are listed as Z#'s

The sub is Alumapro's brand new RX flagship 12" It is in a modified JL stealhbox!!!

THe rectangle box that is flush on the left wall is actually a CAP. It is a phenomenal piece. Alumapro C.A.P. It a 5 fared!!! In that tiny package!!! And to think they make a 15 and a friggen 50 fared!

Mine is/ well WILL be hooked up to both amps!

I say do all you can BEFORE the show!

yea man, I know what ZAPCO is sheeeesh

Class A's are great but require a lot of power too.

nice, alumapro CAP, I've seen em, but never saw anyone ever use them.

I'm surprised that more people aren't going ported in a convertible. I'm a realist and go for sealed most of the time, but it's different in a hatch, you can really FEEEEEEL it, i'll show you what I mean sometime if you've never experienced it. In a 'vert, I think ported would sound best if you can sacrifice the space and find the right way to port it.

Looks good, I don't even want to know a price man, because I am sure no matter what the cost it's all worth it!! (I know my system was!)

mikes2k - Here's a question for you... if you've been using the same shop for so long, how come they aren't sponsering you?!
