any one persons opionion on cheesesteaks is just that their opionion, everyone will have their favorite and it would be up to each person to formulate thier opionion. I personally liked Jim's, although not my favorite, it was still very good.

^^^ Your right.....BUT, I wrote Jim's off when I was about 13yrs old when I had a real steak and not blender style liver meat. Who even wants to be on South St. anyway. The only thing worth while there is Fat Tuesday's octane drinks, that get you really banged up.

Go to Jim's if your doing a cheese steak tour (go there last, so that you can throw it away after the 1st bite, and still be full of goodness).

I'll be there Saturday pickiting that they use dog meat, or I'll be soaking in the uv rays on the beach.

Well, we had a great time in Philly!! And yes, we did go to Jim's and loved it. At 10 am last Sat. Otherwise, we would not have gotten in the door. Never had a cheesesteak that early, but it was worth it. Rained all day but we walked everywhere in Philly - Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Napoleon exhibit, Italian Market, Rittenhouse Square, Reading Market. Were going to Chifa for dinner Sat evening, but ended up having Greek at the Reading Market. Very delicious. And took the Duck Tour. All very fun and interesting. And we had dinner Fri evening with your bud Ken (Zippy) and Nancy at Alma de Cuba. Excellent food and yummy mango martini for moi. May be back in Sept for the half marathon (+1 will be running).

The +1 did not end up running that race, but we may be back in Philly for Zippy's mid-winter gathering in Jan. Taking the train up this time. Probably staying at the Westin again. Good location. Was at a wedding last Sat with a guy from Philly, so discussed cheesesteaks. Tony Lukes and/or Pat's this time?

Sorry your +1 missed that race, but there is a great half marathon coming up at Rutgers University on April 18 2010...based on your avatar pic, you may know where Rutgers is.

See you at the MWG
