The passenger side latch for my top snapped on Saturday when I went to unlatch it The button came off and now the latch is unusable! I would like to try and put a new one on myself now that my car is out of warranty. Assuming I can get the old latch off that is!

Where is the best place to get parts? I am wondering if I have to replace the whole latch or if the individual parts can be ordered separately?

Well at least it is not the optimum weather for top down driving. I have to keep telling myself this

[/sig off just for you Jerry]

Mike: I can call the guy's next door to me at Philly Honda and see what you need to get. I usually get a half decent discount there plus no tax since I get the stuff through my Dealership. I'm guessing you need the whole P/S latch assy?

Mike, that latch assembly is held onto the top by only two screws. Just take the whole thing off and play with it to better see what's going on. If it is not easy to fix, a new latch (though pricey) will be a relatively easy replacement. The hard part comes when you need to adjust its tension and possibly the shimming of it.

Thanks Dave...my problem is the button to pop the latch is now off the 2 screws (the ones that hold the button not the latch) fell out before I noticed what was going on. Now the latch is stuck closed and I cant figure out how to get it open without use of the button

OUCH!! Figures leave it to Honda! I swear they should sell toilets to the Government!

I am trying to verify the correct part is just the latch. I posted a thread in S2k talk looking for a better pic than this one
