Surprising to me as I thought it would never get off the ground LVGP had their grand opening August 18th.
I'm too lazy to look for the first to post so I can't take the credit for finding the place. Maybe it was Tom or ???????
I have a race this weekend and Labor Day weekend am going to the beach after that who wants to go?
To be clear I am not organizing a big event, a group discount, or anything of the sort. If you want to race then go, if you want a special invitaition your not going to get it.
I'll take credit for finding the place I've got track whoring this week as well, then Labor Day weekend at the shore. Watch out Johnny, I'm stalking you!
Count me out for doing the LVGP at least until next year
JFO and I went over to the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix yesterday to fight it out on the track. The First rule is 'NO BUMPING", so what does John do the first chance he gets? You got it he bumped me!, just like them there NASCAR drivers do. The first session John beat me, the second I beat him and then the third session John came back and beat me again. I all fairness I was held up by someone I just couldn't get past no matter how many times I bumped him or tried to stick my kart in tight in a corner.
LVGP is pretty nice all around, nice facility, nice track, and nice owners. John and I got to talk to the owner for quite a while and got to race with him in our last session. He had mentioned to John and I about bringing our race cars over and having some of the s2000 people bring their S's as well.
Here are some pics I took last night. None of John or I since we were both on track at the same time.
Let me clarify, in the 3rd race I did not come back to beat you.
I KICKED YOUR A$$!!!!!!!
It is a good time but plan on spending $75 pp. It can get addicting. However you probably won't spend too much money as you will get worn out and need a break so only sign up for one race at a time.
The kids are the fastest at lower than 33 seconds. My first session was in the 35's then the high 34's then the low 34's by the 3rd race. I might still be on the board when you go freq so see if you can beat me!
The carts are fast and at full speed through the chicane be careful not to lose one of your balls as they retract back into your pelvis.
The track is tight so there isn't too much passing unless the person in front messes up or pulls wide to let you go. It is best to hang back in order to get a quick time and be on the board. It is pretty neat to set someone up and muscle past them but of course that isn't fast----it is fun though!
