Default New tire recommendations

I need some new tires for my AP2. I was happy with the performance of the RE050's, but unhappy with the treadwear. I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Eagle F1, and was looking for any recommendations. Anyone tried the F1's? Experience? I've seen a few posts discussing handling characteristic changes based on the tires, so I don't want to put the wrong thing on my baby.

I think im going with kdw2's. I hear they grip well. I wanted 615's, but they dont make the correct sizes I need.

The tirerack has the bridgestone 050 half off right now, can't beat that.

Where did you see that? I just looked and the rears are still $178 each, fronts $152 each.

ive heard good things about the F1s, specifically wet traction.

I run 615s. your handling wont suffer at all, and you can buy 2 sets for the price of one set of RE050s. IIRC, i paid 520 mounted and balanced for 225/255s.

225/45/17 255/40/17 are cheaper, not the original 215/245. $135/$152.

They have only the R16 half off not the 17.

I run the F1's. Great tire hands down. Its crazy driving around in the rain having nearly the same traction as you would in the dry. The dry traction is great as well.

It was rated the best out of the top 11 summer only tires from car and driver.
