We need t-shirts for this.

In my opinion though, James is a good guy who loves the s2000 community. He has brought alot of interest to racing with the go-kart meets, and I think he would make a great addition to the community as a CO. He knows how to plan a meet, and he is active on the boards. I can't see a reason to not consider him for a potential CO.

It is great to see the democratic process at work here. I think Frank deserves to be CO no doubt! Obviously my life and available time has changed to the point where I couldn't comment too much on the "new blood" and who else would fit the additional two spots.

I do think some merit should be given to having some "senior" blood as a CO. In addition to geographics at play here, we have demographics.... Due to the aging of the S, we have owners across multiple age brackets... with a varied and diverse group of interests.

[QUOTE=suprmonky73,Feb 3 2009, 10:23 AM]Well it looks like in the other thread the community's feelings toward the number of COs is trending towards a big win for 3. That poll is still open so if that changes then we will all see it, but it looks like it will end up being 3. Unless only 2 people are nominated.

So at this point we should open up the floor to see who would want to be considered for CO.

I'm not sure how everyone feels about the format of this, but, I guess just throw out whatever you feel on the subject and we can go from there. Instead of nominations or petitions, why not both. If you are nominated but do not want to be CO, simply state that as such.

mikes2k and frank make a great point. i agree that there should maybe be a more senior CO that would relate more with the older owner demographic

I feel that since majority of the community is older, their should be at least one older CO. Someone such as you, or Ken or Gary or Kevin who can keep the interest of these members.

As stated before, the older members do not post here as much, and they aren't interested in cheese steaks and strip club meets. We need to figure out something for those members. The group drives seem to be going very nice for all the members, so hopefully everything continues to go well and no trouble will arise with them.

Everything right now is going to be decided by the community, they have begun the process and we have to go with the decision.
Frank -

I'm not in agreement here. Its unclear from Mike whether 'senior' (meaning older) or 'senior' (meaning experience) was the intent. I'm guessing older was the intent however for the purpose of my comments. If the intent was experience, I think you bring that to the table to help the two new COs aclimate (sp?).

Even you said it - the older crowd isn't that active. I don't believe we are the majority in the community itself, and clearly aren't at meets (with MWG an exception probably). I also think as a whole, the older owners don't rely on the social, real-life aspect as much as the younger owners do.

I don't think you can pre-assign the COs by demographic. I'm not a fan of geographic determination, but I can see the merit in it. I'm not a fan at all at saying we need a CO who's older. WHY? I say we continue on the path we are on and let the community pick the best candidates based on the nominations brought up.

BTW - I appreciate you even thinking of me with the likes of Mike and Ken. Both have contributed immensely to this forum over time and have built the foundation of what we have as a community today.

IMHO, Frank is "senior" enough to have that aspect covered.

Experience, dedication and commitment trumps age. The age of a CO is irrelevant.

Once again,

Add to the fact that I haven't seen too many "senior" members jumping in and saying they want to be a CO.
