Default project in the making

So.... i've been looking at prices the last year for upgraded parts for the S. but i want to stand out and spice things up a little. the car isn't worth getting rid of for what i paid for it and what i would get for trade in. so i've decided i'm going to drive the car until the wife and I buy a house then we are both going to go get newer cars and i'm putting the S in the garage. i'll be done with school and have the time to work on it the way i want to. i've just started doing the research on the 2JZ swap and it doesn't look to be that difficult just involved with a lot of relocation. if anyone has any site info it would be very helpful. i am mainly going to do the swap for the satisfaction on tuning a car and making something that not too many people have. i also want to start doing more side work when we get a house so if i do something like this it's kind of advertisement for me and showing people it is possible and i'm not a hack tech that's out to rip people off. I wouldn't do anything to anyone's car that i wouldn't do to mine first. i saw that some "company" was doing the swap for about 16 grand but people would send the money and the car and they wouldn't do the swap or he was in jail i'm not sure of the whole story. but i just wanted some feedback on what the community thinks, to kind of give me an idea if this is something that other people would want if the person doing it would actually follow through and give them a good product. negative feedback is welcome just play nice when doing so

Have fun cutting the firewall up and having your shifter about 6 inches back from where it is now. Its not an easy sway for this engine upgrade. I would suggest finding a 2jz-gte block fast. They seem to be hard to come by now for some odd reason.

I think the perfect swap for the s2000 would be an sr20, and I'm still dumbfounded to this day why no one has done it yet.

never thought of the sr20 swap. that would be an easier engine to come by. i'm still checking out the specs for everything but for now just an idea.

A strong motor but rare and expensive the last time I checked for a swap in my old FD and I was in Japan when I priced it. I imagine much hasn't changed. Would be nuce tho. I agree with frank, SR20 would be good. The engine it self is close to the same size as the S which means less hacking for fitment. Just my 0.02.

ok we got two for sr20. the rotary i could probably get for a decent chunk of change but i know of a place called KD rotary and the onwer is a guru with rotaries and would definatly be onboard with any help. i'm still now ruling out the sr20 but i don't know much about the engine

Forget all that. Get a stroker kit and some ITB's. NA AP1 FTW.

i did look at the stroker kit and the ITB but if i did a stroker kit i'd want to turbo or sc it and i don't know how well the block would hold up after making the cylinder walls thinner

Stroker FTW!

Making the cylinder walls thinner? Do the stroker kits have a bore increase as well?
