Default Question about the keys

So when I bought my S it only came with a single key no pad ... So I'm wondering if I can buy a civic key with the pad already on it and program it to the S???? Can anybody help I was also on eBay and saw a flip key was wondering if it'll work ??

If you are talking about the flip key that has a pad (I assume you mean the Fob) on it already then you should know that is just a shell. You still need to purchase your own key and your own pad, disassemble them, then put it into the flip key shell. If you are willing to go through all of the work it could be worth it.

I am not sure if a civic key would work, but I don't see why it wouldn't as long as it has the lock chip in it. If you are looking to save money you can go to Home Depot and they can cut a generic looking key with a security chip in it for pretty cheap.

I think the civic fobs are missing the trunk open button.

Pretty sure Home Depot can't cut you a key with a chip in it unless they just started doing it. I had worked in the hardware division and cut many keys, they had no automotive keys in stock that had chips, only dumb keys. As I understand it the keys need to be programmed to match your ecu security code, which has to be done at a dealership or possibly a "tuning" shop with appropriate Honda systems and software.
