Default Accord key for the S

i was wondering if anyone has got an Accord key or a CRV key with the remote stuck together to work with the S??? i asked the dealer and they said that the key would work but they have no clue if the remote would work or which one would be compatible with the S. i like the S key but it just takes up unneeded space with the separate remote.

No they don't work. The key type is completely different. You can't cut one of those keys and have it work with the S2000 key barrel.

You can use an NSX, Integra, Civic, Prelude key. But not the newer generation keys.

Find someone that will hook you up with some Accord keys and try to program it to your car via the same method you would use to program any extra remotes or replacement remotes you would get for the S. It might work, but I am trying to figure out how you would get around the immobilizer issue.

jzz30 has a 2005.
The 04 & 05 do have the laser cut style like the Accord.
The dealer should be able to program the immobilizer chip in the Accord key to match the keys you already have.
Then you program the car to understand the remote.
Am I sure this will work? No.

I would not count on what the service reps say.....

In 22 years of driving.... service writers have said bla bla bla
check the other keys.... take the blank and place it into the keyhole
if the fits.... have it programed and then cut last

Fords have that crazy key code and will not work without the big plastic key

but I do have a plain key in my wallet.... one day I closed the hatch with my keys
with the bags I just loaded..... locked out.....
Aw F#$k

Since we know that the immobilizer can be programmed. We just need someone to get ahold of an Accord key and try having the module in the S2k recognize it by programming it the same way we do our stock remotes. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with a newer Accord..
