Default Rearview mirror, i hate it

Ever since I took my rearview mirror off to tighten it, it was never on correctly again, vibrated all the time, and even fell off once and awhile. Finally I snapped after it fell off after me going thru the gears, so i chucked it out the car. Probably not the smartest thing, so I tried to get a universal one, but wasnt sure if i should take off the stock mounting block or not, it seemed on there pretty firm.

Anyway what I'm asking is, does anyone have an aftermarket mirror and how did you attach it? any particular mirror thats really good? I really hate the stock mounting design so I want to know if there is anything better?

This problem drives me nuts and I would really like to come up with a permanent solution, the universal is mounted but its not done right, so its equally as shitty and still falls off. Its funny how such a small thing takes away from the whole experience.

Any suggestions or ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Are you cleaning the windshield very well before you mount it?

well i left the stock mounting block on, i was afraid to scrape it off. so i glued another on top of it. sounds dumb but that actually stays fine, its just the screw that tightens the mirror to the block never stays tight. i would like to find a mirror that uses the stock mounting block.

Booztin, is there a link for this mirror? i will google it awhile.

You're not attaching the mirror right. It took me 20 minutes of cursing myself before I got it right. Between the base, clip (ring), spring, screw, attaching it right will drive you crazy.

I know there's a few for sale i think still just gotta look for them. But if you get a stock mirror or anything come on over if u want ill mount it up straight for you and you shouldn't have any problems.

When I first got my car, the mirror vibrated really bad, when I took it back to the dealer it took 4 mechanics to come out and periodically look and readjust it.

I have no clue why they made it so complex to install, every other one I've had to fix slid on and was tightened down by a screw.... simple really.
