How are the tuners there? Did they ever tune S2000's before?

John at Acura just did my Emanage and he has it set just for boost hide. I need a/f, vtec, and timing done still. I was just going to take John with me to a local dyno, but the local muscle shops know nothing about imports and John said I might be better off going to someone whos tuned an emanage before.

 

He mentioned he put a clutch in an S2000, but did not mention tuning one. He was very knowledgable about tuning. I would call him. I know he has done a lot of subarus, mitsubishis, supras. Ask for Chris

Im trying to get an appointment for this Sunday. They havent called me back yet. The guy said he has tuned a emanage before. He did quote a higher price for dyno runs though, I think 75 for 2, and a lot more for tuning.

 

Hey Jackson, I think it is $75 to use the dyno per hour for tuning. I copied this from his site . let me know how you make out

Ok after 7 hours of tuning and 16 runs I dont think Im happy with the results.

On the first 12 runs the car wouldnt redline due to the Emanage map clamp settings. Took a call to Slows2k to fix it. That took about 5 hours to fianlly figure out.

He finally got the a/f to 11.8 all the way across the board, but on the last run a threwa CEL saying tis to rich. We left it, but I havent redlined it again so Im not sure if it will throw another CEL.

My VTEC is at 4400, but when driving partial throttle, the car hiccups from 4-7k. My exhaust sputters like a machine gun during it.

Max hp only ended up to around 285 or so, which was less than what I started with. Im confused and so drained from the experience. i think it needs a lot more work and tuning.

Total price-550 plus.

I give the guy Andy credit, he's real nice and intelligent about tuning, but it was his first Emanage on an S2000.

Im calling them again tomorrow to figure out the hiccuping.

Oh BTW, I didnt know that Xotics was so close to Long Wood Gardens. I drove by the entrance on the way there. Im sure Ill be headed back there soon, hopefully the car will make it there.

Also, some guy came by the shop while I was there and said he remembered me from the Westchester show. He was there. Small world.

 

Sounds like a long day. I spoke to Chris this morning. I was on the beach when he called and did not get the message until late. Let me know how you make out
