I thought this was widely known. I'm pretty sure Scot has gotten the S past 6k RPM's in reverse, and it DID hit VTEC. I don't think it's dependent on the motion of the car, just the RPM's. If you're really curious, there's one way to find out...

you can even set the cruise control if you are above 25mph in reverse.
