Sent him a PM for more info. What all is needed for this? Helmet, and... fire extinguisher maybe? Anything else? Any suggestions as to where to get a good helmet for cheap? (I have been told before to get a full motorcycle helmet and just run with the front deflector up) Approx cost?

Haha, good call on the ebay. Costs are around $150/day!! That's awesome, most of the track events/schools I had been looking at were $1-2k per weekend. If it really is that cheap then count me in for aug!

Tom oo ooo, Tom question

Do I have to do anything about insurance?

Also how much is a complete roll bar setup? (cage, harness, are seats mandatory? etc) to qualify for most other track events?

Lastly best place in the area to try on helmets?

Nope. You might want to check your policy to see if you are covered or not, but if you take the "it'll never happen to me attitude" like I do, then don't worry about it.

$500 for a roll bar
$130 for a 6pt harness
Seats are not mandatory, but highly recommended for harnesses. A good seat will cost $600 new.

Having the roll bar alone will get you into 95% of track events though.

The only place I can think of is a motorcycle shop. Try Martin Motorsports out near Pottstown or Montgomeryville Cycle Center. The helmet is not going to be custom fit, so you are only deciding on small, medium, or large. I'd measure your head and take a best guess. Recommended brands are Arai, Simpson, and Bell.

Question? More like questions!

Yeah yeah

Thanks for the info

And now I'm REALLY in the mood to go to the track. Remember that Creek road out by LWG? Well I figured out I can take it the whole way to my new house from work

For those of you going, when are you going down? Night before or that morning? Caravan time?

I have not received an email back yet from the organizer. Time to get on him!
