Track day
Just want to see if any of you are interested in going to Lime Rock on April 28th with the Porsche club. Not sure of all the details yet since it is still a bit away, but if I can get some interested parties (you) to let me know if they are serious about coming, I'll get details and group rates from my friend.
New update 4-2-05
I'm closing the opportunity for this on Monday 4-4-05
Everyone has untill then to send me a PM if they are going.
Jfo and Blue liquid have already confirmed
Here's the update!!
I have confirmed that S2000's may run at this lime rock event without an additional rollbar as long as the stock or better roll hoop is in place and passing the broomstick rule. The event is on April 28th and from what I have heard space is limited for the track and the local motel is almost booked up. Please respond soon if you wish to go. I spoke to the track chaiman for the pca club and he agreed to let me take a group of you to his place to give checks, sign the forms, and get your car inspected so I will need to know when we can do this so I can let him know in advance. He will also perform the broomstick test on you.
Here's what you need.
brake pads with at least 50% still on em
clean brake fluid
car in good mechanical condition
a helmet snell m2000/sa2000 or better
A check for $170 instructed, $140 uninstructed but this will be per the track chairs descision after reviewing your experience.

Event is $170 for instructed drivers. $140 for non-instructed. It includes a free dinner at the track after the days event. For s2000 people here is the important info. A broomstick rule will apply. They said a snell 95 m, or sa is required but I think that is old info. I would make sure the helmet is at least a snell 2000sa or m rating. If you want to run with an open top, you will need arm restraints. A tech inspection on your car is required before the event, but I can arrange that for you. Other than that I think its all you need. For those that want to go I will send the more important info, like where we stay and where we are leaving from.

keep us posted, I may be interested. Grew up in CT and watched many a race there. It's a GREAT track and area. Give us some details on the track time. The price sound reasonable. what will be required for tech? will stock belts be ok? the broomstick test is testing our roll hoop height in regard to your height . You sit in the car, a really big guy named Bubba takes a broom stick and makes sure .......... your helmet doesn't touch it as he holds it across your ............... windshield and roll hoop. It only hurts if your big (tall)
Paul,
I am under the same impression as Gary in that I thought all convertibles had to have an aftermarket bolt in roll bar to drive at Lime Rock. Can you please make sure that a stock S2000 can drive on the track, top up if it needs to be.
In my situation I have the Elda bar so I should be OK. However, I just checked and even with the higher bar I DO NOT pass the broomstick test. You mentioned about the top up, do you not get checked with the broomstick if the top is up? In that case I am good to go.
Thank you,
John
