If anyone was on the July 28th run you'll know that I had a slight problem shifting from 1st into 2nd gear. (I think Charlie told me the count was up to 12 grinds) So I decided to take it in and see if I could get the TSB taken care of in addition to the buzzing that happens when decelerating between 3 and 4 thousand RPMS. Well, they had no problem with TSB 54 which is the buzzing but told me that the 1st to 2nd gear grind TSB only covers the year 2000. Mine is a 2001 so they won't do it unless I pay for it. Has anyone had this TSB done on their 2001? Just curious if I should try another dealer and see what they think.

The TSB does only list 2000 model year. If you can demonstrate to the service rep the grinding during a road test, he might support your problem???

Bill Haldeman at Martin Main Line Honda (Ardmore on Rte. 30) has been a great help to me. You might try giving him a call (610-649-5600) and asking him about it. Leave a message and he calls you back. You can tell him Jerry referred you... I'm dropping off my S on Thursday to get the Buzzing Clutch tsb done

I am curious about this myself, since I too get the occassionaly 1-2.

I too heard that they will only do it on the '00 MY.

It was comical knowing that on the July 28th run there was a approx fourteen $32,400+ Honda S2000 making a musical beat out of the 1-2 grind.

Well I just got my S2000 back last night after getting TSB 54 done (Buzzing between 3k and 4k rpms) I have to say they almost did TOO good a job. The clutch feels smoother and there is absolutely NO noise. NONE!!!! No more growl after I take my "TOES" off of the gas pedal. (Yes I am STILL driving in my socks). You almost can't hear me coming from off in the distance anymore.... Oh well can't have it all I guess.....

Here is what I did. I told him my clutch was grinding between 1st and 2nd gear between 7 and 8K rpm's AND that my clutch was buzzing. It really acts up after you drive it hard. If you drive over there normally and have them test drive it, all they will do is shift at 4 or 5k, let their foot off the gas and listen for the sound. It normally wont happen then..... After he drove it at 7-8k rpm's the buzzing REALLY acts up and they noticed it. Give it a try, I think you'll find that the same thing happens.
