Visiting Philadelphia
Hi everyone,
I am travelling down for the UFC 101 in August and i was planning to visit the city while im there.
I was wondering what is there to do...i really like pubs and anything that gives me a good overview of the city (historical sites) so any good places i should know about?
Thanks.
Frank

Go to Pats/Genos for a cheesesteak.
Monk's cafe at 16th and samson for awesome beer and mussels.
You can ride the "duck" if you're into that historical stuff. It'll shuffle you through most of the historic district, south street and drive into the delaware river. You can even drink on the duck.
Olde city or Rittenhouse square for night life.
Add Sabrina's cafe on 11th and Christian for stupidly good brunch. Prepare to wait. You can visit the italian market while you're there.

Might also want to stop by the Art Museum if that interests you. Or visit it just to say you was there.
If you wanna see the Liberty Bell it's on Market Street between 5th and 6th streets.
If you want another good cheese steak joint, try Jim's Steaks on 4th and South street, so you can take a walk around the shops while you're on South Street.
Another good one is the Comcast Building, which has a 10 million pixel wall upon entrance. Even though I still haven't visited it myself
Just went to Chickie's and Pete's last night. They're crab fries are pretty awesome.

I'll try to think of more

Tip: Try and stick with cabs/trains or else pay very close attention to the parking situation...Philly Parking Authority is very attentive in the city.
I'll second the "duck" idea...sorta corny and touristy, but they take you around and show you all the cool spots to visit including pubs, restraunts, clubs, etc...just mark the spots on the map as you go. $20 per person, leaves from the Liberty Bell (or adjacent museum building) at market and 5th.
South Street on the weekend was also a great suggestion...interesting.
Mutter Museum (Museum of human oddities/weird human medical museum)...Eastern State Pennitentiary (tour the old prison that has been on hundreds of tv shows about ghosts)....Independance Hall...try gophila.com...
You and your friends will find plenty to do and see...
