Default what would you do

I have a FIPK, berk header and test pipe in the mail. I'm going to run it to a dyno, but i'm assuming it's going to run lean. I really don't want to spend $1,500 on an EMS, but I obviously don't want to run lean. I was originally planning on just doing a VAFC tune. Then I was thinking about an emanage ultimate... With the lack of tuners in the area, and jeff evans only tuning EMS for our cars, what would you do? Drive somewhere to get an emanage tune? If so, then where? Or go with the VAFC tune and let the stock ecu handle under WOT, and the VAFC at WOT? If so, then where would I get the VAFC tune done?

Thanks, I'd have put this in the regular forum, but I figured people would understand the lack of tuners in the area and maby some people who have had tunes done can chime in.

If you do some reading online, you can tune a car yourself. Its all trial and error.

Most people tune their own vafc's, and more and more people are experimenting with greddy tuning themselves because of the lack of shops that do it.

From what i've read, its all basic engineering principles.

You can just bolt the i/h/tp on and be fine. You actually want the car to run leaner to create more power. The car runs a bit rich from factory anyway. VAFC's and Emanages will just allow you to adjust VTEC and add or take away fuel. The main advantage you will have in adding a piggyback to N/A is to even the a/f out a bit more and adjust vtec which will pick up a few more hp on top of the bolt ons.

I had matt from Import Intelligence tune my Haltech standalone and he was good. Def an experienced tuner you might want to give him a call and see if he tunes with e manage as well.

I would imagine you could get the haltech to work with the s2000 but I never tried. He tuned one of my other cars. I loved my haltech but I wouldnt recomend it for the s2000 since theres proven plug and play standalones out there that plug right into our harness for the same amount of money.

I forget what is name is (giles something) who sells pre-tuned emanage ultimates that allow you to change the dip switches based on what bolt ons you have. The results are usually quite impressive with most people remarking about how the response/driveability has improved in real world conditions.
